James Valentine attended [[Berklee College of Music]] with [[John Mayer]] in 1996, where they developed a rapport. In 2002, the two reconnected at a Mayer radio broadcast. * Since 2008, Maroon 5 has partnered with environmental non-profit REVERB to green their tours and engage fans to take action for the environment.
* Maroon 5 has been a longtime supporter of Aid Still Required (ASR).
